Beko plc’s research and development centre is located on Cambridge Science Park in the heart of Cambridge’s innovation ecosystem. The centre's aim is to investigate novel technologies and develop new products and features for the home which respect the environment and support consumer comfort, meeting their current and future needs. With sensing, smart home technologies and sustainability as our focus, Beko R&D collaborates with UK Companies and Universities on both direct and government funded projects to achieve its aim.
The centre is part of parent company, Arçelik’s, global R&D network of over 1500 researchers, located in 17 R&D and design centres worldwide. Arçelik has a strong track record in innovation and is 67th in the world patent league for top patent filers, published by the World Intellectual Property Organisation. Such innovative product designs include Europe’s first connected Autodose dishwasher, Everfresh+ technology in refrigerators that helps food to stay fresh for up to 30 days longer and FreezerGuard technology that guarantees freezers will work in sub-zero temperatures.
